Are Your Energies in a Jam?
Submitted by Patricia Zub, MD
It’s no surprise that 4 of the letters in the word “Health” are HEAL. True healing is going “mainstream” these days with many practitioners offering all different kinds of healing. You may have heard of “Full Spectrum Healing” and might even be curious to know it can help you.
Using Functional Medicine at 4 Better Health, we focus on whole-body wellness which includes“Rebalancing” your energies.
What is Full Spectrum Healing?
Energy flow in our body is like the flow of cars on the highway. When we’re in good health, it’s a nice ride on a Sunday afternoon – smooth and steady. Now picture the MassPike during rush hour and it’s a totally different story! When people suffer from illness, their energy is more like quitting time on the Pike during a snow emergency! Full Spectrum Healing (FSH) is like opening up 2, 3, even a dozen extra lanes, allowing the body’s energy to flow much more freely, easing the “congestion” creating illness. To fully appreciate how this leads to better health, you need to know a little bit about “energy anatomy”.
The fact that we all have a physical body is an obvious one, but what many may not know is that we also have an energy body. There are seven major energy centers in our body called chakras. Each of these energy centers or chakras correspond with the major endocrine glands in our body and has their own unique characteristics. Pretty cool, huh?
Just as our physical body grows and develops over time so does our energy body. Chakras begin developing prior to birth starting at the first chakra, which is at the base of our spine, proceeding upwards as we grow. Each chakra has its own vibration, frequency, color and body structures it keeps healthy. The seven main chakras are the seven colors of the rainbow (remember ROYGBIV?). The first chakra’s frequency corresponds to the musical note C, the color red, adrenal glands, legs and feet. The second chakra energy corresponds to the musical note D, the color orange, the ovaries, testes, bladder and kidneys. The third chakra the note E, color yellow, pancreas, stomach and small intestine. You get the idea, right? Each chakra has many other individual characteristics, but more on that another time.
FSH works at each of the chakras centers at its own frequency, vibration or the easiest way to think about it, color. The seven colors of the rainbow are the “full spectrum” of these main chakras and what the healer works with. Ever feel stuck in life, or that you have low energy and no-one can figure out why? Brain fog? Inability to complete tasks? Emotional ‘for no reason’? Have a nagging issue that just won’t go away? Well, it likely is related to changes in your energy system. If you don’t want to plow through the day running on caffeine, you’re tired of beating yourself up for being in a rut, or dealing with that nagging whatever it is, consider adding this modality. Everyone could use a fast-pass, no traffic Mass Pike commute 4 Better Health!
How is it done?
FSH is typically done in a quiet tranquil setting. The patient is relaxed and the practitioner uses light touch on multiple areas of the body. Each session is unique to the patient’s need on that day. Most sessions are 45-60 minutes in length.
Dr. Patti Zub is a full spectrum healer and teaching assistant at the Rhys Thomas Institute of Energy Medicine. She integrates her knowledge of functional and energy medicine to treat the whole patient’s body, mind and spirit.
